Yeah I remember hearing you are n't supposed to pass down matresses so we're going to get him a pack and play and bring it. Unfortunately we're flying so I am trying to limit the stuff we bring- We are bring the stroller and car seat into the cabin w/ us b/c I was afraid it woudl get broken with all the luggage being thrown on it . But I guess I will have to check the pack and play.

actually you arents upposed to pass down mattresses so I am on baby #5 and every one gets a new mattress, we just pass down the crib

I missed the first post to see the age of the child and the # of beds/size of the room and # of ppl traveling and whether it is air or car travel

I don't think 5 years would be a problem. People who have more than
2 or 3 kids probably use their crib mattress longer than that. But
definitely read up on it if you're concerned.
