I met a woman at work that I would catorgorise as love-shy. We got talking and she told me about how she regrets not telling her feelings to a guy she liked in the past. I told her that "perhaps you learnt your lesson, and next time if you like a person tell them", but she just replied that she can never tell a guy she likes him. She also told me that she likes another guy now, but she is just going to wait for him to tell her his feelings because she "simply can't" tell him her feelings first.
Although this girl has a typical love-shy charateristic, ie being too insecure to make the first move, it has not really affected her dating life. She has just gotten out of a two year relationship, she has about four guys that want to date her and she has turned down a number of dates recently.

I believe there are love-shy women. It's just that it doesn't effectthem as much. Being shy, passive and acting coy are typical femalecourting behavior traits, so love-shy women are able to marry in mostcases. The big problem with love-shy women is that they will likelypass the condition on to their sons. Also women's brains are more socially wired than men's, so women canmask it and deal with it better.I haven't met enough female love-shys to draw conclusions, but Isuspect women bury their love-shyness more than males. Somethingabout the subject itself seems to turn women off. So men are morelikely to admit and accept that they have the condition.--
