I've been thinking about this subject for awhile and I've also been looking at what commerical companies are doing. When we have small areas to cover, I'd much rather use the important stuff on the product itself.... what it is, what it does, weight, how it works and/or directions. I also want high quality labels and of course the larger the more expensive they are. So, I've about decided to do what I've seen the commerical companies do and that is to put the ingredients on the packaging. I think it may can even be in the form of an insert. If we use bags, then why not an inexpensive white sticker on the bag? or a small piece of paper folded that is inserted into the bag.
I do not like the "hanging tags" look at all for myself personally. I'd rather have it look more professional. Boxes for bars of soap is quite expensive. But I think I'm going with shrink wrap--saran on the bars myself. I may place a sticker on the back of it, else I don't know what else I may choose to do.
I'd like to hear from, (other than the hanging tag folks) what other ideas you are doing.
But yes, I think business cards are a must. A small re-order form, catalog of sorts would be good to also include with every order... a minimum to have our website URL and contact info on something.
Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you guys! this topic I'm really excited to hear about.

I use Avery templates for many of my soap and B&B labels... Available at www.avery.com
It's free, simple to use, and very flexible.
