The answer to that question will depend on who
believed designed the organisms in the first place.

At one time GM and other automobile companies were
accused of designing cars so that they would only last
5-6 years or 80,000 miles which ever came first.
That basically insured the companies of return
customers.

I am told that if you go to Cuba you can find 1950 GM
models still running around thanks to the ingenuity of
cuban mechanics and their ability to fix the old cars.

Some scientists believe that the upper limits of
lifespan for a human is 120 years.

The question is would you rather be driving around in
a late model automobile or a patched together 1950
model?
