Re: [Plagio] Re: difference in length of wear between hanger and CT?

Go to CT it is a no brainer, read past posts regarding hanger and some of their locations.  I went to CT instead of a hanger that was not up to par.  Some have gone months in the hanger and seen little to no correction.  We are on Long Island, not sure what hanger is near you and what others have to say about that particular office.

Hello. It is common that Orthotists will estimate about 3-4 mo,
because that is the average length of wear for a cranial band. Since
your Daughter is younger that most kids that are banded, CT's estimate
may be a little more accurate, but you never really know how they will
grow until they are banded and you start seeing correction. The Hanger
Ortho may have just said that to be conservative, since you can't
really predict the length of wear. It doesn't neccesarily mean that
she would be in the Hanger Band for longer. Just that the time isn't
really something that can be predicted accurately and some Orthotists
just aren't as comfortable with telling you a time frame in case the
baby's growth doesn't go along with it. (the foam on the Hanger band
does actually tend to be thicker than the DOC, so I believe that the
life of the Hanger band can be longer, but time for correction should
be about the same regardless which band you use)
