Hi, everybody,
My son's pediatrician is recommending a helmet for my almost-5-month
old. I want to see a specialist first to get a second opinion
(although I agree that my son does have an issue) and am wondering
which type of doctor is best to see. In general it seems like most
people see a craniofacial surgeon. I have an appointment with the
ped's referral tomorrow. This guy is board-certified in orthotics,
prosthetics, and pediatrics and specializes in developmental
biomechanics, modeling of bones, and re-shaping work with children.
He sounds like he could be good, but my only concern is that his focus
is not just cranial, but bones in general.
I am in Queens, NY and have been reading your discussion about Hanger
in Long Island. My ped recommended Ortho Medical Products, also in
Long Island. Does anyone know about them?
Thanks!
Shana
